Copper tape and grounding for ESD / antistatic flooring

Copper tapes for ESD flooring are pasted on the ground at minimum 3 meter interval to form a mesh, and the copper foil intersections need to be bonded with conductive adhesive to ensure continuity between copper foils. The end of the strip is attached to an electrical outlet to safely and effectively discharge static charge to ground.

Conductive adhesive (ESD Glue)

Conductive adhesive creates an electrical bond between ESD flooring tiles, uniting all contiguously installed tiles electrically. Apply ESD glue with notched trowel. Ensure the ESD adhesive is applied evenly (thick glue will lump after laying ESD tiles). Leave to cure about 75%-85% stickiness.

Lay ESD Tiles (Conductive / Dissipative / Antistatic)

Lay the ESD vinyl tiles once ESD glue is reached 75%-85% of stickiness. Once all ESD vinyl tiles installed, use a 80kg metal roller and rolled over the newly installed ESD vinyl tiles in X-Y directions. This will help to release trapped air and improve the bonding between ESD vinyl tiles and the subfloor.

ESD Tiles: Groove and Welding

Use auto/manual groove cutter to trim the edge of ESD vinyl tiles. Once all edges are trimmed, use auto/manual welding gun to weld all the joints. Finally, trim of the excess welding rod.
